Ghana drops by a position in the latest FIFA world rankings


The Ghana Black Stars has moved down the ladder in the global table rankings announced by FIFA for the month of June. The June table released sees the Black Stars dropping from the 49th to 50th position although there was no change in the total accumulated points.



This single drop is a major blow to the National Stars of Ghana ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ญ. The Black Stars are currently preparing for the for the African Cup of Nations which starts next week. They suffered a 1-0 loss to Namibia ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฆ in a preparation game on Sunday. This was after a fixture against South Africa on Saturday. They are scheduled to play Cameroon ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฒ, Benin ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ฏ, and Guinea Bissau.

Ghana has however been ranked sixth on the continental level. There was no change in the rankings of the top four with Belgium ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ช, France ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท, Brazil ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ท, and. England ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ. These four maintained their positions from first to fourth respectively.

The next edition of the ranking will be released on July 25.
