Major Maxwell Adam Mahama’s the soldier who was killed at Denkyira Obuasi in the Central Region on May 29, 2017 his phone stolen from him after he was brutally stoned and killed.
The person who stole the phone has been arrested in the person of Kwadjo Fordjour.
Police investigators traced the mobile phone – an iPhone7, to the room of Kwodjo Fordjour, a driver at Denkyira Obuasi.
Fordjour has been remanded to police custody Accra Central District Court on Wednesday.
The prosecutor, Detective Inspector Simon Apiosornu told the court
that they retrieved the phone from Fordjour’s room at Denkyira Obuasi
when they picked intelligence that the suspect was in possession of the
mobile phone.
Inspector Apiosornu pleaded with the court to adjourn the case so
the police can do further investigations to consolidate Fordjour’s case
with the 19 suspects remanded earlier in connection with the lynching of
the army officer who was mistaken to be an armed robber.
The Magistrate, Worlanyo Kotoku adjourned the case to August 3.
The possession of the Major's mobile device some what puts Fordjour at the scene and hence implicating him.
