The California State Authorities have seized 1.9 tons of methamphetamine; a potent central nervous system stimulant, heroin, and cocaine. This was a shipment meant for Australia. An operation by the US Border Officials and Australian law enforcement which took place on January 11 at the Long Beach seaport- Los Angeles. Joseph Macias, special agent in charge at the Homeland Security Investigations Los Angeles said in a statement, "There's no question that the criminal organization behind this scheme has been dealt a significant blow." The two containers of drugs contained 3,810 pounds of meth, about 56 pounds of cocaine and 11.5 pounds of heroin, US Customs, and Border Protection, Officials said.
