Toronto City Officially Declares February 6, as "Bob Marley Day"


The Late Bob Marley was a Jamaican Singer-Songwriter, an international musical and cultural icon. His unique sound was a blend of reggae, ska, and rocksteady. The life of the icon spanned from February 6, 1945, to May 11, 1981. Bob Marley died at the age of 36 in Miami from melanoma; cancer typically occurring in the skin. The Mayor of Toronto, John Tory in a tweet presented to the world a photo of the proclamation on behalf of the Toronto City Council saying February 6,2019 was "Bob Marley Day."

This Toronto City Tradition pays tribute to Bob Marley's Legacy of Peace, Harmony and the Unity of Mankind.
